Dear Prospective Allied Health Students,

We want to welcome and encourage you to explore the Ascension St. Vincent College of Health Professions! The Ascension St. Vincent College is a hospital-based institution of higher learning owned and operated by Ascension St. Vincent. The College exists to award an Associate Degree in training programs that are offered by our Ascension St. Vincent hospitals. 

Ascension St. Vincent College currently has successful programs in radiography, medical sonography, cardiac sonography, and surgical technology. Each program has  a rigorous curriculum with active clinical and field participation leading to the Associate of Applied Science degree. The Ascension St. Vincent College's accreditation by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) makes it the only hospital-sponsored academic institution in Indiana accredited to award academic degrees. Additionally, are programs are fully authorized by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education/Board for Proprietary Education.

We value individuals and want to make a positive difference in the lives of patients we serve. Our commitment is to provide students with the highest quality health education available and the appropriate pathway to professional certification.  Our goal is to serve as a model for hospital-based allied health education and training and we are looking for individuals that are called to serve and learn in our hospital communities.

Radiography Program

The Ascension St. Vincent Radiography Program is sponsored by Ascension St. Vincent and is the only hospital-sponsored academic institution in Indiana accredited to award academic degrees. The Radiography Program was established in 1966 and is a twenty-two month program consisting of formal didactic education and supervised clinical education. Since 2016, 100% of our students have passed the ARRT certification exam and 96% of our graduates were employed within 6 months following graduation. The students accepted into our program have access to comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical imaging technology and all types of radiology science modalities. Our students also gain patient-focused, hands-on experience with all types of patients receiving medical imaging services. Please click the link below to check us out!

Sonography Program

The Ascension St. Vincent Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program is sponsored by Ascension St. Vincent and is  the only hospital-sponsored academic institution in Indiana accredited to award an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program is a twenty-four-month program and consists of formal didactic education and supervised clinical education. The DMS program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) under the recommendation of Joint Review Committee for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Programs (JRC-DMS) in the areas of General (abdomen and OBGYN) and Vascular Sonography. The students accepted into our program have access to comprehensive, state-of-the-art sonography technology and all types of medical imaging science modalities. Cardiac Sonography Program

The Ascension St. Vincent Cardiac Sonography Program is sponsored by Ascension St. Vincent and is  the only hospital-sponsored academic institution in Indiana accredited to award an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program is a nineteen-month program and consists of formal didactic education and supervised clinical education. The cardiac program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) under the recommendation of Joint Review Committee for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Programs (JRC-DMS) in the area of adult echocardiography. The students accepted into our program have access to comprehensive, state-of-the-art sonography technology and all types of medical imaging science modalities. Surgical Technology Program

The Ascension St. Vincent Surgical Technology Program is sponsored by Ascension St. Vincent. The Surgical Technology Program is a fulltime, 17 month program which includes formal didactic education, hands on skills training and supervised clinical rotations. With being a hospital-based program, students learn and practice skills in a real functioning operating room! Students gain patient-focused, hands-on experience in variety of surgical procedures. The Allied Health Immersive Pipeline, or AHIP, is an outreach initiative of the Ascension St. Vincent College of Health Professions that exists to provide middle and high school students a hands-on exploration of allied health careers. AHIP welcomes all students but especially targets minority and underrepresented youth. AHIP is an extension of Ascension’s ABIDE initiative and is committed to  connecting kids and young adults to careers in healthcare, especially programs offered by the Ascension St. Vincent Collège, toward the goal of providing an opportunity for to earn a living wage in a meaningful allied health career.
