Any time you're working around flying particles, splashing chemicals, harmful radiation or other eye hazards, you should wear goggles, a face shield or helmet, or some combination of these types of protective equipment. To preserve your vision:
Make sure the eyewear fits. Nearly 95 percent of injuries to workers wearing eye protection happen because objects or chemicals make their way around or under the protection.
Properly maintain your protective eyewear. Scratched or dirty lenses can limit your vision and lead to accidents.
