Some Children Still Lacking Immunizations
More than 20 percent of 3-year-olds in the United States have not had all the vaccines recommended, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The good news is that more American children than ever have been immunized. Children start out at birth with a vaccine against hepatitis B, and over the next three years, they receive a battery of immunizations. A vaccine for the flu was recently added to the list of immunizations recommended for children 6 to 23 months of age.
