Breast Cancer - Early Detection Can Save Lives

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, except for non-melanoma skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, the chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman’s life is about 1 in 8 (13% of women). St.Vincent Fishers Hospital takes these numbers seriously and realizes the value of early detection and education.

Breast Health - Beyond Breast Cancer 

While breast cancer is by far the most notable disease, there are numerous conditions and benign diseases that affect beast health and often require medical attention.

These include:

  • Fibroadenoma (non-cancerous tumor)
  • Fibrocystic change (lumpy breast)
  • Ductal Papilloma (wart-like growth)
  • Mammary Duct Ectasia (blocked milk duct)
  • Galactocele (milk-filled cyst)

Additional Services 

St.Vincent Fishers Hospital offers free diagnostic breast exams for patients who are uninsured and have reason to suspect that they need a diagnostic exam, such as finding a lump. Our staff can guide you through the process of finding services to support you if you should need them.
