Curriculum (IMFM)

Continuity clinic is held in a jointly sponsored primary care clinic located at the St.Vincent Primary Care Center, staffed with both IM and FM residents and faculty. The curriculum basically follows that of FM the first two years with more medicine and medicine subspecialties incorporated in years 3 and 4.

PGY-1

  • 3 months Adult Inpatient Medicine (AIMS)
  • 2 months Adult Intensive Care
  • 1 month Inpatient Pediatrics
  • 1 month Outpatient Pediatrics
  • 6 weeks of Inpatient Maternal Child Health
  • 1 month of Outpatient Maternal Child Health
  • 1 month Ambulatory Medicine
  • 1 month Inpatient Cardiology
  • 2 weeks Elective
  • 1 half-day/week Continuity Clinic

PGY-2

  • 6 weeks Adult Inpatient Medicine (AIMS)
  • 1 month Adult Intensive Care
  • 1 month Surgery
  • 6 weeks Emergency Medicine
  • 1 month Obstetrics Night Float
  • 1 month Outpatient Pediatrics
  • 1 month Infectious Disease
  • 1 month Pulmonary
  • 1 month Geriatrics
  • 2 weeks Continuing Care Nursery
  • 6 weeks Electives
  • 2-3 half-days/week Continuity Clinic (1-2 in FM Clinic; 1 in IM Clinic)

PGY-3

  • 1 month Adult Inpatient Medicine (AIMS)
  • 1 month Adult Intensive Care
  • 6 weeks Clinic Center Chief
  • 1 month Pediatric ER
  • 1 month AIMS Night Float
  • 6.5 months Electives
  • 3 half-days/week Continuity Clinic (2 in FM Clinic; 1 in IM Clinic)

PGY-4

  • 1 month Adult Inpatient Medicine (AIMS)
  • 11 months Electives
  • 3 half-days/week Continuity Clinic (2 in FM Clinic; 1 in IM Clinic)
