Curriculum (PE)

In the Pediatric Residency Program at St. Vincent, education is our focus. In addition to the foundation of required training rotations, our program actively tailors curriculum to the specific pathway of the individual. With personalized mentorship and guidance, each resident can infuse elective opportunities in subspecialties and research into their personalized curriculum to best fit their needs and goals. Our training is based on this foundation of experiences that allow for tremendous longitudinal opportunities and relationships. Along with the educational experiences, there are a number of daily morning and noon conferences to further your training such as Grand Rounds, monthly case conferences, and journal club.

Pediatric subspecialists and specialists from other divisions all participate in our educational curriculum.

PGY-1

  • 4 months Inpatient General Pediatrics
  • 2 months Outpatient General Pediatrics
  • 1 month Neonatal ICU
  • 1 month Term Newborn
  • 1 month Emergency Medicine
  • 1 month Pediatric Surgery
  • 1 month Night Float
  • 1 month Electives
  • Continuity Clinic

PGY-2

  • 1 month Inpatient General Pediatrics
  • 1 month Outpatient General Pediatrics
  • 1 month Neonatal ICU
  • 1 month Pediatric ICU
  • 1 month Emergency Medicine
  • 1 month Adolescent Medicine
  • 1 month Child Advocacy (Community Medicine)
  • 2 months Night Float
  • 3 months Electives
  • Continuity Clinic

PGY-3

  • 2 months Inpatient General Pediatrics
  • 1 month Outpatient
  • 1 month Neonatal ICU
  • 1 month Pediatric ICU
  • 1 months Emergency Medicine

  • 4 months Electives
