Colin J. Blackburn, DPM

Dr. Colin Blackburn's interest in podiatric medicine began early in high school while job shadowing a local Lafayette podiatrist. He quickly became fascinated with the skill and expertise that the podiatrist possessed with diagnosing medical conditions of the lower extremity. The desire to obtain these skills as a practitioner were the driving force behind choosing St. Vincent Hospital to complete a 3 year residency program. Dr. Blackburn was confident that St. Vincent could provide him with the tools and educational assets needed to become an effective practitioner in the community. Along with podiatry, Colin enjoys playing tennis, working on his car, and riding his classic motorcycle. He currently lives in northern Indianapolis with his wife, Holly, and their two dachshunds, Kirby and Murray.


 

Kellie Higgins, DPM

Dr. Kellie Higgins was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio.  She received a 

Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and then went on to the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.  She worked a variety of jobs throughout her schooling, including being a summer camp counselor and mentoring younger kids.  Dr. Higgins enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine, and specifically likes foot and ankle surgery and trauma, sports medicine, and pediatric foot and ankle injuries.  Outside of podiatry, Kellie enjoys playing sports and being outdoors.  She enjoys traveling and loves to visit with family and friends as often as she can. 


 

J. Tyler Vestile, DPM

Dr. J. Tyler Vestile was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana. Through a high school soccer injury, Dr. Vestile became introduced to the field of medicine.  As a junior in high school he was given the opportunity to shadow doctors of many different specialties, including that of podiatry and orthopedics.  At Purdue University he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and minor in Pre-Medicine.  Following his undergraduate education he continued his education at Indiana University in the Masters of Biology program.  After completing four years of school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, he chose to return to his home state for his residency program at St. Vincent Hospital.  Throughout his years of schooling Dr. Vestile worked at Prestwick golf course and enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, soccer, and basketball.  Outside of residency he enjoys spending time with family and friends.  In the field of medicine Dr. Vestile enjoys the areas of diabetic wound care, rearfoot/ankle trauma, sports medicine, and internal medicine.  Dr. Vestile will plan on practicing in the Indianapolis area following his Residency at St. Vincent hospital.


 

Reid Christie, DPM

Podiatry School:  Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia, PA

Dr. Christie's interests in podiatric medicine include foot and ankle surgery and wound care. He chose St. Vincent hospital for the opportunity to work with a variety of different attendings, as well as the chance to aid in medical education. He was born and raised on the south side of Indianapolis playing soccer with his two older brothers. He attended Indiana University for his undergraduate education, and decided to follow a career path in podiatric medicine. He attended podiatry school at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His other interests include playing golf, watching Indiana University basketball, and any type of outdoor activity.


 

Eric Moffett, DPM

Podiatry School:  Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia, PA

Dr. Eric Moffett was born and raised in the small town of Palm Bay in central Florida. Although his family moved to Texas, he stayed in the state to finish high school and then go on to college at the University of Central Florida where he obtained a BS in Biology. While obtaining his BS degree, he sought out many different branches of medicine that would allow him to participate in surgery as well as a clinical setting without having to choose one over the other. Advice from a pre-medicine college counselor led him to Podiatric Medicine. Before the first day was done, Dr. Moffett had already decided this was the perfect profession for him. He was soon enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and later did his externship training rotations across the country for exposure to Podiatric Medicine across regional differences. He decided on St. Vincent for his residency training due to its excellent medicine rotations, resident run clinic, and multifaceted approach to Podiatric Medicine through various highly trained staffed Podiatrists.


 

Jessica Patterson, DPM

Undergraduate:  Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio
Podiatry School:  Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio

Dr. Jessica Patterson was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University and then went on to receive a Masters of Library Science degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. She worked as an academic librarian for a few years but realized she wanted to make a more meaningful impact in peoples' lives and decided to attend podiatry school. Soon after her decision she started podiatric medical school at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. Dr. Patterson enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine and specifically likes wound care, diabetic foot care, foot and ankle surgery, and sports medicine. Outside of podiatry Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband.


 

Aaron J. Leshikar, DPM

Podiatry School:  Kent State University - College of Podiatric Medicine, Independence, OH

Dr. Leshikar was born and raised in Texas. He lived in his hometown until he graduated high school and then moved to Austin, TX for college. He was a dual sport college athlete playing basketball and soccer. He received a B.A. in Political Science and International Business. It was many years after graduation, that he met his future wife, who supported his decision to make a career change. So he quit his job, went back to school for an associates in biology, and started a new job as a rehab/wound Care tech at a local hospital.

During his time as a wound care technician, he met a podiatrist that specialized in limb salvage/wound care and immediately knew that podiatric medicine was the career path he wanted to pursue. After completing four years of medical school in Ohio, he chose to head to the Midwest, where he knew St. Vincent Hospital would give him the greatest opportunity to be challenged and grow professionally.

In the field of medicine, Dr. Leshikar enjoys the areas of: infectious disease, wound care, rearfoot/ankle trauma and limb salvage.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Justine and his children, Charlotte, Cora, Celine and James. If he has any other free time on the weekends, he loves playing golf, basketball and tennis.


 

Lauren Kompier, DPM

Undergraduate:  Ferris State University
Podiatry School:Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio

Dr. Lauren Kompier was raised in Wayland a small town in southwestern Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ferris State University.

During her undergraduate years Dr. Kompier began to shadow podiatrists in her area following a suggestion from her academic advisor.

Once she saw how podiatry encompassed many different aspects of medicine in one specialty, she decided to attend the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kompier enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine especially wound care, diabetic foot care, trauma and foot and ankle surgery.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends.


 

Rachel Chhiba

Hometown:  Anderson, Indiana
Undergraduate:  Indiana University
Podiatry School:  Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, Miami, Florida

Dr. Rachel Chhiba grew up in Anderson, Indiana.

She attended the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University. Upon graduating, Dr. Chhiba worked as a pharmacy technician and research assistant when a family member’s foot injury led her to pursue a career in podiatric medicine.

Her interest in podiatry furthered upon shadowing two area podiatrists and she later became a graduate of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Chhiba enjoys all areas of podiatric medicine with an increased interest in sports medicine, wound care, and foot and ankle surgery. She chose the St. Vincent Hospital Residency Program as it incorporates all these characteristics and expresses an opportunity to learn from highly trained physicians in both podiatry and general medicine.

Aside from podiatry, Dr. Chhiba enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, traveling, and ultimately is very excited to be back in Indiana making it easier to spend time with her husband and family.
