The St.Vincent Research and Regulatory Affairs Department announces a call for abstracts to be presented during the Annual St.Vincent Research Symposium in Indianapolis, IN on Wednesday June 11, 2014.
Abstract submissions can address a wide range of research topics. Abstracts should detail a rigorous and well-controlled scientific evaluation, the design of which should be described in the abstract. Research designs that utilize rich data sources are also encouraged.
To be considered for judging, abstracts should result from a completed research study, and should not have been previously published in a peer-reviewed professional journal. Published works may be submitted, but will not be eligible for an award. Clinical vignettes, case series and research works in progress will be considered if reasonable data presentation, analyses, and conclusions are provided.
Awards will be presented for the best abstracts selected from each of the following categories: Student/Intern/Resident/Fellow, Nursing, Physician/Medical Staff, Case Report, Allied Health Professionals/Pharmacy, and Other/Multidisciplinary. Judging criteria includes the originality of the work and clarity of the abstract (background, methods, results, and conclusions). Note that judging is blinded to both the author(s) and institution(s).
Abstract category award winners will have the opportunity to present their research at the Symposium during the plenary session. All abstracts will be considered for display as research posters on site at the Symposium. At the conclusion of the Symposium, the posters will be moved to the foyer of St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital for display from June 11 thru June 18, 2014.
