Financial Matters
Saint John’s mission is to improve the health of the individuals and communities we serve, with special concern for the sick and poor. To that end, Saint John’s is committed to caring for all people, regardless of their ability to pay for services.
If financial concerns arise during your hospital stay, or you feel you may be unable to pay for part or all of your medical services, you may contact a Financial Counselor at (765) 608-2675 during your stay.
If you have any questions regarding your billing or insurance coverage after you have gone home, please call our Customer Service Center toll-free at (800) 582-8258.
Billing Information
- We will bill you for any remaining balances due after your insurance has processed your bill.
- You will have 30 days to pay the balance.
- We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover charge cards.
- We provide payment options and participate in a number of programs design to assist individuals and families with healthcare financial needs.
- You will also receive separate bills from any physicians, such as your attending physician, anesthesiologist or radiologist, who provide services during your admission.
Senior Financial Assistance Programs
Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)
SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) is a free, unbiased, counseling and information service that can answer questions about:
- Medicare
- Medicare Supplement Insurance
- Medicare Managed Care Plans
- Medicaid
- Long-Term Care Insurance
- The Indiana Long-Term Care Insurance Program
- Confusing medical bills/statements
QMB/SLMB
The Qualified Medicare Beneficiary/Specialized Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary Program (QMB/SLMB) helps certain seniors who struggle with the financial strain of Medicare deductibles and co-payments. Saint John’s is able to screen potential applicants and assist with the required application paperwork. Contact the Enrollment Center by calling (765) 646-2698.
