Kathy Young 

Kathy A. Young, FACHE

President

St.Joseph Hospital 

Kathy Young is president of St.Joseph Hospital, a St.Vincent Health hospital in Kokomo, IN. She graduated from Marian College with an associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences and a bachelor’s degree in Allied Health. Ms. Young received her master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis.

She began her career as a Respiratory Therapist in Noblesville, IN, and joined  Mercy Hospital in Elwood, IN, as their director of Respiratory Care just before the hospital joined the St.Vincent Health system. She was promoted to director of Strategic Planning and Marketing before going on to serve a number of ministries in St.Vincent Health, including St.Vincent Carmel, Indianapolis, Mercy and Randolph hospitals. In 2008, she was appointed president of St.Joseph Hospital.

As an experienced healthcare executive with more than 15 years of progressive experience in acute care hospital and health system leadership roles, Ms. Young has developed a proven track record in operations management, financial and cultural turnarounds, physician relationship development, program development, and leadership development and coaching. She also has significant experience in performance improvement, LEAN management techniques and leading broad change initiatives.

Ms. Young is an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist, a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, and a member of the Indiana Rural Health Association and Executive Women in Healthcare.
