Support Groups and Programs
Support groups are pivotal to the success of weight reduction surgery patients, and the St.Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence organizes and proudly offers these support groups free of charge. Scheduled to allow patients the opportunity to attend at least one per month, these groups are open to anyone who has had or is considering bariatric surgery. Post-surgical patients may attend:
- General support groups
- One year-plus post-op group
- Cooking classes
- Exercise classes conducted by an exercise specialist
NewBees is intended for new post-surgical patients and is facilitated by our bariatric registered dietitians.
Specific Scheduling and Speciality Group Information
- Support groups will NOT meet on Memorial Day, Labor Day or July 4th
- Support groups will NOT meet during the month of December (support groups will resume in January)
- Week of Thanksgiving: Check with the Bariatric Center for support group schedules
- Support groups highlighted in yellow are specialty groups for post-op patients only
