Tumor Localization

Tumor localizations mark the surgical site for a breast surgeon. With the guidance of mammography or ultrasound, the breast area is numbered. Then, a thin wire is inserted into the breast and blue dye is injected. When the patient goes to surgery, the markings provide a guided map for the breast surgeon to remove tissue.
