In 2011 the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program (NQMBC) recognized the St.Vincent Breast Centers at Indianapolis, Carmel and Fishers Hospital, and the St.Vincent Mobile Screening Services, as Certified Quality Breast Centers of Excellence – the highest certification level available from NQMBC. St.Vincent was the first healthcare institution in central Indiana, and one of only 11 in the United States at the time, to receive this distinction.

According to the American Cancer Society, the chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is about 1 in 8 (13% of women). More than 75 people, ages 2 to 90, contributed to the Cancer Center’s first mosaic. The Women of Hope, who raise money for cancer patients at St.Vincent, funded this mosaic and will support more mosaics to be created for the inpatient and outpatient cancer treatment areas.
