CT Scan

CT Scanning

A computerized x-ray unit takes cross-sectional pictures of the anatomy for this procedure. The patient moves in and out of a circular/donut-shaped opening, and the machine is not enclosed. Anatomy that is scanned includes: head/brain, abdomen, extremities upper and lower, chest, facial, pelvic, and sinuses with and without contrast administration.

Bone Densitometry

A bone density test allows for accurate assessment of the bone mineral density. This is a simple noninvasive procedure done by the CT scanner. Measurements of the hip and spine are taken to diagnose osteopenia and osteoporosis and to evaluate patients receiving treatment for osteoporosis.
