Athletic Training Internships
Any student currently enrolled in an accredited athletic training curriculum program may apply for an internship. We offer internships as short as one month and long as one semester. Interns have the opportunity to work in several different aspects of sports medicine, including outpatient physical therapy and outreach settings. Requirements include certain clinical competencies and a project presentation.
- Professional Sports (Indianapolis Ice, Indiana Fever, Indiana Invaders – track club)
- Surgery/Physician Office Observation
- Special Events/Out-Reach
- Sports Medicine Administration

Strength & Conditioning internships
St. Vincent Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for the winter sports performance internship program. Three (3) positions are available. The applicants should be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The internship program for the winter term will begin on January 5th and end on March 27th. This is a volunteer position. The intern will receive college credit for completing the program. Job responsibilities are the following but not limited to: supervise and assist in the training of Olympic, professional, collegiate, high school, middle-school athletes, and assist in any off-site training sessions. The intern will be responsible for the upkeep of the facility and equipment. In addition the intern will attend weekly lectures given by our sports performance staff. The intern will have the opportunity to learn and/or supervise and assist in the following:
- Dynamic Warm Up
- Neuromuscular Activation
- Speed Development: Linear acceleration, Lateral acceleration, Change of Direction, and Top Speed
- Olympic Lifting
- Program Design
- Energy System Development
- Resistance Training
- Functional Training
- Functional Movement Screening
- Sport Specific Training
- Team Training
- Youth Development Classes
- Weight Room Design
- USA Diving Training
- USA Track & Field Training
- USA Gymnastics Training
- USA Synchro Training
- Lactate Threshold Training
- VO2 Max Testing
- NFL Combine Training
- Motor Sports Training (Open Wheel driver and pit crew training)
- NBA Pre Draft Training
- NBA Off Season Training
We are looking for individuals who have strong desire to be a strength and conditioning coach. The intern must possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and a willingness to work 40-50 hours a week. An athletic background is preferred but not required. The intern will have full exposure to an all-encompassing sports performance program. The intern will gain valuable knowledge and insight into the field of strength and conditioning. Additional qualifications and skills required:
- US Citizenship
- Of junior or senior status in college
- Current student studying the field of exercise science and/or other related fields
- CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work with others and thrive in group settings
