History of St.Vincent Williamsport
A group of concerned citizens formed the Community Hospital Association, Inc. as a non-profit organization to operate the hospital. The Hospital Guild organized with two key goals: raise funds and perform service for the hospital. These goals continue today.
Many individuals have worked for and shared this hospital for the common good. In both support and service, Community Hospital was well named.
A celebration of sponsorship by the Daughters of Charity with St.Vincent Hospitals and Health Service was held in January 1997.
St.Vincent Williamsport is steadily growing in patient number and expanding its services. With the alliance to St.Vincent Hospital and Health Services, St. Vincent Williamsport remains a not-for-profit facility. This alliance with a tertiary hospital will continue to provide quality health care services and expand resources.
St.Vincent Williamsport is prepared to deal with forthcoming changes in health care reform.
