Vincent C. Caponi, B.A., M.H.A., Chief Executive Officer, St.Vincent Health Vincent C. Caponi joined St.Vincent Health in September 1998. As chief executive officer for SVH, he leads the integrated health care network of which St.Vincent and St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo are members.
Caponi came to St.Vincent Health from St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as president/chief executive officer. During his tenure there, he fostered open communication among senior management, promoted decentralized decision making and encouraged ongoing collaboration between hospital administration and medical staff.
As part of his commitment to supporting community healthcare needs in Birmingham, Caponi helped produce a network of medical homes for the city's poor, created a primary care center with the local public hospital, and reopened St. Vincent's primary care clinic.
Earlier in his career, Caponi served as administrator, president and chief executive officer of St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Georgia; chief executive officer of United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Michigan, and assistant administrator of The Memorial Hospital in Owosso, Michigan.
In early 1998, St.Vincent and St.Joseph Hospital and Health Center in Kokomo formed St.Vincent Health, a mission-based, values-driven alliance of local healthcare providers.
