Former Indiana Secretary of State Sue Anne Gilroy will join St.Vincent Hospital as vice president of development and executive director of the St. Vincent Foundation on Tuesday, September 6. Gilroy’s background includes her service as Indiana’s first female secretary of state from 1994 to 2003, having led the statewide ticket in both her election and re-election. During her tenure with Indiana government, she brought corporate, securities and election reform to the state. Gilroy served as Indiana’s State Director under U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar from 1990-1993.
For the past two and a half years, Gilroy has served as director of advancement at University High School in Carmel. She has been responsible for building community relationships, developing financial resources, providing strategic planning leadership and serving as a student mentor. As Gilroy assumes her responsibilities at the St.Vincent Foundation, she will continue her association with University High School by serving on their Board of Trustees.

Her experience will enhance the Foundation’s fund raising efforts and strengthen the long-term sustainability of our organization.”
Gilroy graduated Cum Laude from DePauw University with a bachelor’s degree and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Indiana University at Indianapolis.
She and her husband Richard have two children: Emily, whom they lost to cancer in 1989; and Grant, who is a 2004 graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
