INDIANAPOLIS – November 26, 2007, St.Vincent Health announced that Kyle De Fur has been appointed the 18th president of St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital effective December 11. This selection culminates an extensive search process that included candidates from the health care system’s medical staff and leadership.
Previously, DeFur served as the president of Saint John’s Health System for more than four years. At the Anderson-based St.Vincent Health hospital, De Fur was instrumental in establishing growth and program development opportunities for Saint John’s network of services, and has been committed to the community it serves. He has a proven track record for partnering with physicians in developing strong operations focused on quality patient care.

In addition to St.Vincent Indianapolis, De Fur will have leadership responsibilities for St.Vincent Women’s Hospital, St.Vincent Stress Center and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent.
Prior to serving Saint John’s, De Fur was chief executive officer of Arbor Hospital of Evansville, administrator of Charter Hospital of Rockford in Illinois. He also served as assistant administrator of North Hills Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and Charter Ridge Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
De Fur holds both a Master of Hospital Administration and Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University.
Tom Vanosdol, Saint John’s Health vice president of Operations, has agreed to serve as interim president and manage the day-to-day operations. Vanosdol first joined the Anderson hospital team as a staff speech language pathologist in 1990, and has received several promotions and recognitions throughout his years of service.
He became VP of Operations in 2006 and has been a key member of the Saint John’s leadership team.
