On Friday, April 25, St.Vincent Health and the St.Vincent Foundation will host the inaugural Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Celebration of Caring gala at the N.K. Hurst Bean Factory. The premiere event is the first significant fundraising initiative for the comprehensive children’s hospital since the renaming of the facility to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent in September 2007.
Local and national dignitaries and corporate sponsors will attend the 530-person fundraising gala, while Peyton and Ashley Manning will serve as the honorary chairpersons. CBS Sports NFL Today host James Brown will emcee and recording artist John Mellencamp is scheduled for a special performance.
The awards ceremony will include a Most Valuable Player award given to a community leader who has been an advocate for children’s health in Indiana, and a True Hero Award honoring a patient family’s testimony of a department of the children’s hospital for providing highly specialized care.
St.Vincent will have several live auction fundraising packages that include suite tickets to an Indianapolis Colts home game, New York Giants tickets, signed items from Peyton and Eli Manning, a signed guitar from Mellencamp and dinner for 10 with Peyton. Reis-Nichols and Conrad Hotels also donated packages for the event.
Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent was founded on delivering family-centered care for all pediatric patients throughout Indiana. The dedicated children’s hospital has grown to more than 300 pediatric specialists, 46 inpatient beds, 15 beds in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and 17 private rooms in the Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department.
The array of pediatric specialists and clinical staff at the comprehensive children’s hospital provide the highest quality of care in emergency medicine, cancer and blood diseases, general surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, pulmonology, otolaryngology, rehabilitation and endocrinology.
