Kokomo (May 8, 2008) – St.Joseph Hospital is the only Kokomo employer named one of the 2008 Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in the large-sized company category consisting of 250 or more employees.
Only 66 Indiana companies have received the designation of “Best Place to Work in Indiana” by creating a strong workplace culture in which employees feel valued. The award is in its third year and this is the second consecutive designation St.Joseph Hospital has received.
“We are excited to learn we have been ranked 10th this year, said Darcy Burthay, RN, MSN, president, St.Joseph Hospital. “It is the associates’ hard work that has moved our ranking from 13th in 2007 to 10th this year. Associates care deeply about one another and our patients, so they deserve this honor for making us, truly, a best place to work!”
The program honors the top companies in the state, as determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from two categories: small-to medium-sized companies between 25 and 249 employees, and large-sized companies consisting of 250 or more employees.
The actual rankings of the top Indiana companies were announced at the Best Places to Work awards dinner on May 7 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom downtown Indianapolis. Winners will also be recognized in a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s bimonthly BizVoice® magazine and on Inside Indiana Business with Gerry Dick.
