WHAT: St.Vincent Martindale Brightwood Cancer Awareness Health Fair
WHEN: Saturday, May 16, 2009, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
WHERE: Martindale Brightwood, 2855 N. Keystone Ave. (Genesis Plaza)
DETAILS: On Saturday, May 16, the St.Vincent Center for Cancer Care will host the Martindale Brightwood Cancer Awareness Health Fair for area neighborhoods and community members.
The faith-based hospital will collaborate with a number of health providers to offer free health screenings and education for men and women. Some of the services include:
- Breast cancer risk assessment
- Head, neck and oral screenings
- Cervical cancer education
- Mammography registration
- Hemoccult Kits (colon cancer screenings)
- Smoking cessation and education
- Vision screenings and support services
- Prostate screenings
- Diabetes education
- Lead testing
Screening and appointment registration will be provided by: American Cancer Society, Center for Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy (CENTA), St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana and Urology of Indiana.
Attending participants can also visit the "Get Covered Area" for help registering for state health insurance programs, and enjoy free food, games and prizes.
