INDIANAPOLIS – By purchasing a $50 raffle ticket, an elementary, middle or high school student will be entered in the drawing to win a special school visit from Pro Bowl Quarterback Peyton Manning. The Super Bowl MVP will reward the contest winner by traveling to an Indianapolis-area school, and visiting for at least one hour with a worthy student during the day.
The raffle contest, which is open to the public, will benefit Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.Vincent. The school visit winner will be announced at the Celebration of Caring Fundraising Gala on Friday, May 8 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
"We are grateful for the generosity of our favorite quarterback," said Sue Anne Gilroy, executive director of the St.Vincent Foundation. "His willingness to give his time at a school allows Hoosiers the opportunity to participate in our charitable raffle that will benefit pediatric patients who require complex care at our hospital."
Raffle tickets can be purchased by calling (317) 338-GIVE (4483), and the deadline is at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 7. Raffle rules are available at pmchraffle.stvincent.org.
The Celebration of Caring Fundraising Gala will have an "Under the Big Top" theme, where St.Vincent Health will transform the inside of Lucas Oil Stadium into a 1920s circus with decorations and performances.
Local and national dignitaries and corporate sponsors will attend the 650-person fundraising gala, while Peyton and Ashley Manning will serve as the honorary chairpersons. THE NFL ON CBS play-by-play voice Jim Nantz will emcee, and country music recording artist Darius Rucker will perform live at the event. U.S. Senator Evan Bayh and Archie Manning are also scheduled to attend.
During the prestigious event, there will be several live auction fundraising packages offered for bid and an awards ceremony. Sponsorships and tables are still available for the event by contacting Ann Hall at (317) 338-5090.
Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, PC; The Care Group, CorVasc, St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana; and Sodexo Healthcare Services have all committed to sponsoring the Celebration of Caring Fundraising Gala.
