About the Hospitals

 

St.Vincent Hospital is comprised of the Children’s Hospital, Women’s Hospital and Pediatric Rehabilitation Center.  The hospital is a mission-based organization dedicated to the care of ill children from infancy to age 17 in Indiana.  Providing exceptional patient care is the primary focus at our institution. A pediatric medical residency will also be starting in 2007.

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent is a non-profit, four-story pediatric hospital dedicated to the care of ill children. The 87,000 square-foot children’s hospital opened in January 2003 and offers all private rooms, overnight accommodations for parents, and a child-friendly setting designed to allow caregivers and families to work together to improve children’s health.

Other Facts

  • Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent offers access to more than 1,100 medical and surgical physician specialists who are world-renowned in cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics and oncology.
  • The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit operates one of only two ECMO programs in the state and the only program for non-neonatal patients. ECMO is a device that helps newborns with severe respiratory distress.
  • The Children’s Heart Center is a regional center of excellence in the care of children with heart disease. The center provides a full range of services for the care of infants, children and young adults with all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease.
  • Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent has one of the most active programs in international pediatric cardiovascular surgery.  Each year, more than 20 children are brought to St.Vincent from around the world for open heart surgery.
  • The St.Vincent Rod Fasone Pediatric Hospice is the only pediatric hospice in Indiana.  This facility is one of an elite few in the United States designed to meet the needs of terminally ill children and their families.
  • Through the School Health Program, clinic staff and health services (i.e. basic first aid, health education/screenings, medication administration, etc) are provided to more than 7,000 enrolled students each year in local school facilities (K-12).
