Excellence in Our Health Ministry
Because our health ministry is built upon the excellence and commitment of each individual associate, St.Vincent rewards excellent performance in encouraging associates to use their experience and talents fully in the workplace. St.Vincent provides a comprehensive and diverse program of benefits to meet the needs of associates and their families.
Medical Plans
St. Vincent offers five medical plans – two Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), one Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) and two Point of Service Plans. Co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and out-of-pocket maximums vary by plan.
Prescription Drug Coverage
The same prescription drug coverage is provided in each medical plan. New Hires who enroll for one of the medical plans receive a prescription drug card, which they can use at participating retail pharmacies. If you elect medical coverage, you may also use the Associate Pharmacy, which fills your prescriptions at the lowest cost. Our prescription drug plan also includes a mail order pharmacy feature.
Vision Plan
St. Vincent offers a comprehensive vision care program designed to provide professional services and high quality lenses and frames if you use one of the preferred providers.
Dental Plan
St. Vincent offers three dental plans – a Basic Plan, a Premium Plan and a new Preventive Plan designed for those associates who need only routine preventive care. You may select a Network dentist and benefit from contractual agreements and protection from balance billing. Or, you can choose a non-network dentist and receive coverage based on usual and customary charges.
Health Care Spending Account
The purpose of this plan is to help you pay for health care fees and expenses for you and your family that may not be fully covered under your medical, dental and vision plans. These expenses typically include deductibles, co-payments, coinsurance and other portions of health care costs that insurance doesn’t pay.
Short Term Disability
The short term disability benefit pays a percentage of base pay and begins after one week of disability. It the disability continues beyond 180 days, then the associate may qualify for long term disability coverage. St. Vincent pays the full cost for this benefit-it is free to benefits-eligible associates.
Long Term Disability Plan
St. Vincent provides full-time, benefits-eligible associates with long term disability, which covers a percentage of their base pay. This benefit is provided at no cost to full-time associates. Part-time, benefits-eligible associates have the option of purchasing this coverage. Full-time, benefits-eligible associates may purchase additional replacement coverage.
Term life insurance is insurance that covers you for the term of your employment with St. Vincent. All life insurance purchased through the St. Vincent benefits program is term life insurance.
Basic Term Life Insurance
St. Vincent provides term life insurance for all benefits-eligible associates. The benefit is equal to one times the annual base pay with a minimum coverage amount. St. Vincent provides this benefit at no cost to associates.
Supplement Term Life Insurance
Benefit eligible associates can purchase additional term life insurance. You may select from benefit amounts of one, two three, four or five times your annual base pay. The costs for this coverage vary depending on your age and base pay.
Dependent Term Life Insurance
Benefit eligible associates may also purchase term life insurance for their immediate family. The cost for this coverage varies depending upon the amount you select and your age.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
Associates who are eligible for benefits may purchase additional term insurance that also provide benefits for certain accidental injuries. You can choose to cover yourself only or yourself and your family.
Business Travel Accident Insurance
All associates have automatic business travel accident coverage beginning at their date of hire. This coverage provides a benefit in the case of death or dismemberment as the result of an accident while on company business. This benefit is provided at no cost to the associate.
Pension Plan
St. Vincent provides a basic pension benefit based on length of service, level of pay and age at the time of retirement. Once you are vested, your benefit cannot be forfeited upon your employment termination.
Retirement Savings Plan (RSP)
Associates may elect to contribute to the plan on a pre-tax basis in 2004 up to a maximum amount.
Matched Savings Plan
A Participant who makes contributions to the Ascension Health Savings Plan and works 1000 hours or more each year is entitled to a Matched Savings contribution under the Retirement Plan. Through the Matched Savings Plan, St. Vincent matches a portion of your RSP contributions.
St. Vincent offers a wide variety of programs that allow you to spend time with your family, offer you discounts on services, and provide convenience for life’s daily chores.
For the associate:
Paid Time Off Program (PTO)
The PTO Program at St. Vincent provides time off with pay for those times when you need to be away from work. Instead of traditional vacation, holidays, personal time and sick days. St. Vincent provides PTO hours that can be used for any reason. Benefits eligible associates accrue PTO hours beginning on their first day of work. Part-time associates receive a prorated accrual of PTO based on actual hours worked. You may begin using your accrued PTO hours after you have completed six months of employment.
Associate Assistance Plan (AAP)
The Associate Assistance Plan offers confidential crisis intervention and counseling to all associates and their family members. These services are available as early as your first day of work. The Associate Assistance Plan handles initial counseling and problem evaluation at no cost.
Tuition Reimbursement
Tuition Reimbursement is available to benefit eligible associates after three months of service.
For Your Family
Dependent Care Spending Account
Through the Dependent Care Spending Account, you can set aside money on a tax-free basis to pay for care of your dependents while you’re working. This includes child care and elder care as well as care for a disabled dependent.
Child Care Discounts
Some area child care providers offer discounts to St. Vincent associate.
Adoption Assistance
For associates who are adopting children, St. Vincent provides a reimbursement to help pay for adoption expenses.
College Savings Plan
St. Vincent offers the Indiana College Savings Plan to all associates to help you set aside money for your children’s college education. Through this plan, you can save for college with convenient payroll deductions.
For Your Convenience
Legal Plan
The legal plan covers unlimited telephone advice as well as office consultations with a plan attorney.
Auto/Homeowner’s Insurance
All associates may apply for auto and/or homeowner’s insurance. Associates can take advantage of special rates and discounts, and have convenient payment options through payroll deduction.
