CSTs find exciting choices at St.Vincent by working in one of our three surgical arenas - Surgery Pavilion B, Outpatient Surgery Pavilion A or Cardiovascular Surgery. Cardiovascular surgery consists of 7 operating rooms and performs adult open heart surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery and pediatric open heart surgery procedures. Surgery Pavilion A consists of 5 operating rooms and performs primarily ENT, sports medicine, plastics, and ophthalmology.
Surgery Pavilion B consists of 23 operating rooms and is divided into two teams that care for both adults and pediatric patients. One team includes ENT, plastics, urology, thoracic, GYN and general surgery procedures. The other team has rapidly growing programs in sports medicine, hand, total joint replacement, neuro and spine surgery. Another opportunity for CSTs is the instrument room. These CSTs are accountable for the decontamination, packaging and sterilization of instrumentation and implants. With the continued advancement of minimally invasive procedures and technology, this area has a growing need for the expertise of the CST.

Job Requirements
Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) is required for the CST position at St.Vincent.
