Because we know that meeting your spiritual needs is part of your healing process, the Pastoral Care Department at St.Vincent has a staff of trained and certified chaplains. An interdenominational group, the staff is made up of caring people who understand the deep concerns that may occur during a hospital stay. They are able to help patients and families work through their fears, anxieties and loneliness and turn hospitalization into a time of renewal, healing and new perspectives. They know that health care services should contribute to the physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of those served.
The chaplains routinely visit patients in all areas of the hospital. However, you may request to see a chaplain at any time. You may call the Pastoral Care Office directly at 338-2238, or ask your nurse to make the request for you.
The Pastoral Care Department will be glad to notify your church or other place of worship of your admission, with your consent. You are asked upon admission for your religious denomination and place of worship and about your desire for notification.
