Emergency Room
Transporting patients and assisting with tasks to insure the Emergency Room runs smoothly are the main duties of the volunteers in this busy area of the hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for the college student who plans to enter the medical field.
Gift Shop
This beautiful gift shop is the place to volunteer for those who love to shop! Besides providing sales assistance volunteers assist with the cash register and display set up!
Inpatient Admitting
Volunteers transport new patients to their rooms and also assist with various office tasks. This is a good opportunity for the compassionate person to interact with incoming patients.
Reach Out & Read
This is an opportunity to not only interact with children, but to also encourage reading to families that might not incorporate that into their everyday lives. Volunteers read to the children while they are waiting for their regular check ups. The children are awarded a book by their physician after their check up..
Pediatric Emergency Room
Volunteers are need some evenings and on the weekends to assist the techs with various duties. This is good opportunity for the high student interested in medicine.
Surgery Waiting Room
A pleasant smile, a calm demeanor and an extreme amount of patience are required for volunteering in this area.
Community Relation Projects
This is a great opportunity for the person who does not want to commit to long term volunteering projects. Volunteers will assist with information booths at various functions throughout Indianapolis.
Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic
The volunteer who chooses this opportunty must like to be active and be able to walk, walk, walk. The main duty will be to escort families from the clinic to radiology for x-rays. The hours are Fridays from 9AM-1PM.
