Basic Diabetes Class A class for adults and children with diabetes and their significant others. Self-management skills are taught by a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Better Breathers Club A support group for adults who suffer from a chronic heart and/or lung disease. Family members are encouraged to attend. Meetings include expert speakers, video presentations and roundtable discussions. This group is part of the American Lung Association of Indiana in partnership with St.Vincent Mercy Hospital. Grief Recovery Program This program is a series of meetings for those who seek to grow through the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one through death. It is offered twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, to older teens and adults. For more information, please call Sr. Rosie Coughlin at 765-552-4622.
Safe Sitter A medically accurate program that teaches girls and boys ages 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. The goal of Safe Sitter is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters. To successfully complete the Safe Sitter program, the students must attend a one-day class and pass a practical and written test to show that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle an emergency.
