Saint John’s Diabetes Care Center is committed to providing quality diabetes education to patients and their families. The program aims to provide the diabetic important self-management skills needed to attain independence in diabetes management.

Outpatient Diabetic Education


Saint John's Outpatient Diabetes Education Program brings together professionals from several disciplines. The material is presented cover three class sessions.  Daytime and evening class options are available. Additional individual teaching sessions are provided based on patient needs. 

 

The classes cover the full spectrum of diabetes education, including:

  • Blood sugar control
  • Dietary planning
  • Preventing and treating complications
  • Benefits of exercise
  • Sick day management
  • Psychosocial adjustment


Saint John's Outpatient Diabetes Education Program has been awarded the American Diabetes Association's Education Recognition Certificate for a quality diabetes self-management education program.


For more information about Saint John's Outpatient Diabetes Education Program, call (765) 646-8178. A physician's referral is required for enrollment.  The program is covered by most insurance carriers.
