The St.Joseph Foundation is a separately incorporated not-for-profit organization that exists solely to develop resources for St.Joseph Hospital. The Foundation solicits and manages charitable gifts for a variety of projects including new equipment and facilities, continuing medical education and direct patient care for the poor. Gifts may be earmarked for specific purposes, or may be specified for use wherever the need is greatest.  The gifts may be made in the form of cash, stock, property, bequests, trusts or other planned gift arrangements.  Often, contributions are made in honor or in memory of an individual. Our major donor constituencies include patients and their families, employees, physicians, volunteers, community leaders, businesses and friends of St.Joseph Hospital.

More than 700 donors annually support the St.Joseph Hospital mission by contributing generously to the Foundation. Between 1990 and 2004, The St.Joseph Foundation disbursed over $4 million in grants to fund charity care, medical technology and education programs.  The charitable gifts have strengthened both the hospital and the community. The Foundation is governed by the St.Joseph Foundation Board of Directors, a body of community leaders who provide stewardship for the funds and oversight for their expenditure.

St.Joseph has a strong history of private gift support – giving that has leveraged its accomplishments and excellence over the decades. By staying focused on the mission of St.Joseph Hospital, the needs of the poor and vulnerable populations, and prudent business operations, the Foundation will continue to be a force for carrying out the mission of St.Joseph Hospital throughout the region.
