What is SNAP?
To truly achieve a healthy lifestyle, it takes a lot of dedication. The Center for Women’s Health wants to make your journey as easy as possible. That’s why we’ve created seminars and programs around the four steps to optimal health, it’s a SNAP!
Screenings
Screening tests are used to identify a disease previously unrecognized, or the risk factors associated with a particular disease. Women should be aware of the recommended guidelines and discuss their risk factors with their physician.
Nutrition
Nutrition is vital to a healthy lifestyle. The key to a healthy diet is to eat a variety of foods that provide the essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants required to optimize physical health and well-being. Nutrition impacts your mental and emotional well being as much as the physical.
Activity
The higher your level of physical activity, the lower your risk of developing chronic disease. Physical activity is a key indicator in maintaining a healthy body weight for adults and children. A sedentary lifestyle increases risk of obesity and chronic diseases such as coronary artery disease, hypertension, type-2 diabetes and certain cancers.
Personal Time
Stress is different for everyone and comes from many sources. Stress can manifest itself in many forms. By taking time for yourself every day, you can refocus your stressful energy into positive energy and allow your body to relax and release the tension from the day.
