GLAUCOMA - WHO IS AT RISK?

Though glaucoma can occur at any age – from infants to the aged – those at highest risk include people who:

• are over age 45
• have a family history of glaucoma
• have abnormal intraocular pressure (IOP)
• are of African or Latino descent
• are near-sighted
• have diabetes, or hypertension
• have a history of prolonged steroid use, such as cortisone
• have had a previous eye injury
