GLAUCOMA - WHO IS AT RISK?
Though glaucoma can occur at any age – from infants to the aged – those at highest risk include people who:
- are over age 45
- have a family history of glaucoma
- have abnormal intraocular pressure (IOP)
- are of African or Latino descent
- are near-sighted
- have diabetes, or hypertension
- have a history of prolonged steroid use, such as cortisone
- have had a previous eye injury
