Executive Director

Kimberly McElroy Jones, PhD, is Executive Director of MICI-AHEC. Kimberly has strong credentials, strong relationships in central Indiana and a deep personal and professional understanding of the AHEC mission. 

 

Kimberly earned her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University in 2001 and a master’s degree in Adult Education from Indiana University-Indianapolis in 2004. She is currently in the dissertation phase of her Doctoral Degree in Organization and Management through Capella University. Prior to joining the MICI-AHEC, she was employed by Clarian Health as a clinical education specialist for the Pharmacy Technician Program.

 

Project Coordinator

Shauna Roberts is Metropolitan Indianapolis - Central Indiana Area Health Education Center's project coordinator. She is charged with enhancing the quality of access to health care and addressing the health workforce needs of the medically underserved. A native Hoosier, Roberts was the outreach coordinator of Networks Financial Institute where she coordinated and managed NFI’s infrastructure and processes in support of a broad financial services outreach agenda. Roberts began her career in the not-for-profit industry for a PBS Affiliate, KERA Unlimited located in Dallas, Texas. As fundraising research coordinator, she provided foundation and government fundraising research that resulted in $600,000 in gifts. Roberts received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Southern Methodist University in 1999.  Spring of 2001, she was awarded a fellowship from CUNY, Baruch College in partnership with the National Urban Fellows in New York City with curriculum focusing on the social and economic problems of urban environments.

Roberts has a personal and professional commitment to the arts, education, and social/economic development - tools she believes are vital to inspiring youth and building stronger communities.

 

Sr. Administrative Assistant

Tricia Brown is MICI-AHEC's Sr. Administrative Assistant. A graduate of Indiana University's School of Education, with her Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education, she started her career in the not-for-profit industry. As program specialist for the Girl Scouts of Tulip Trace, she enhanced the Girl Scout program throughout the council's 12 county service area.  Brown is charged to work collaboratively with schools and organizations in the MICI-AHEC region to improve health for underserved and underrepresented populations.

 

Clinical Placement Coordinator

Cyndi Cook, RN, BSN  is the Clinical Placement Coordinator for MICI-AHEC. In this role she is responsible for the clinical placement and support of health professionals in all clinical rotations, scheduling shadowing experiences, and preparing high school and college students for the clinical environment, as well as, working with the Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet Students enrolled in the Cohort Healthcare Professional Program where she will be arranging clinical internships. A strong focus of this position will be finding students clinical experiences in Medically Underserved Areas (MUA) and Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA).  She is also responsible for the recruitment and development of educational partnerships to create and provide clinical programs for students. Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, she is a graduate of the University of Saint Francis, Bachelors of Nursing Program.  Through her years diverse of nursing experiences, a constant “thread” has been community education in diverse healthcare settings.
