The L.I.F.E. Program, Lifetime of Individual Fitness and Eating Program, at St.Vincent Carmel Hospital is a medically supervised program overseen by Dr. Adrienne Gomez, the program’s medical director.
The program includes 20 visits over a period of 30 weeks. The first 10 sessions are the most intense, with weekly secessions that include weigh-ins, labs (if needed) and counseling. The final 10 sessions are bi-monthly and help patients transition to greater personal accountability.
L.I.F.E. Program consists of four necessary program elements for successful weight loss.
- The medical component includes blood tests and health screenings to assess each patient’s medical condition.
- Nutrition guidance is provided by a registered dietitian and helps patient understand how their individual program specifics are designed to reduce weight and improve health.
- A behavior counselor manages each patient’s emotional needs, and
- An exercise physiologist helps patients develop an exercise program that assists patients in making lasting healthy lifestyle changes.
