Coordinated Care
If you are diagnosed with a breast abnormality or breast cancer, you want to be certain that the diagnosis and treatment options you select will offer you the best chance for a cure. The breast health experts at the St.Vincent Breast Center can help you select your best options for diagnosis and treatment and provide you with caring support.
At St.Vincent we are dedicated to providing each patient with exceptional care through the entire course of their treatment plan. We offer the latest advances in the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, and our multidisciplinary team of health care professionals is committed to providing patients with the most comprehensive cancer care available.
In addition, our patients have access to a women’s health practitioner, who will support them throughout their entire care process. Our women’s health practitioner serves patients —and their families—one on one from the very beginning and throughout the woman's entire breast care experience, helping to educate each woman about breast health and the care process.
In addition, our women’s health practitioner helps with the following:
- Sets up appointments, explains medical terms, discusses treatment choices and offers a supporting, compassionate ear.
- Assures a collaborative treatment plan is coordinated between you and your physician(s) with your personal needs in mind
- Offers guidance and expertise in navigating the full range of hospital services
- Provides access to educational opportunities, information, publications, books, and other resources on a variety of topics related to breast health and breast cancer
- Recommends hospital-based and community support groups and services
- Provides information on community resources and activities
