Mobile Mammography Unit

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Most women who are diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease or other risk factors. Early detection not only saves lives, but also significantly reduces medical costs.
The St.Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit allows the latest equipment to be easily accessible to more women seeking screening mammography services. Completely self-contained, the unit offers door-to-door service to corporations and retirement communities throughout Indiana.
It’s Professional
The Mobile Mammography Unit is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration. Registered female mammography technologists from the St.Vincent Breast Center staff the mobile unit. Mammograms are interpreted by board certified radiologists who are mammography certified. Breast self- examination instruction is offered to all participants.
It’s Convenient
The comfortable mobile unit is designed for patient privacy and confidentiality. Results will be sent to the participant’s physician and to the participant within 7 – 10 working days. If short-term follow up is necessary, a St.Vincent staff member will contact participants.
It’s Affordable
There are two billing options available: Insurance can be billed directly or the organization can rent the van for a day at a per-person rate.

Osteoporosis Screening also available
Osteoporosis afflicts an estimated 25 million Americans, 80 percent of whom are women. Osteoporosis has often been called the “silent disease” because it doesn’t produce symptoms until a fracture occurs.
St.Vincent offers on-site bone density testing using a heel scanner. The scan is a simple, painless, non-invasive procedure. The entire appointment takes approximately 10 minutes and participants leave knowing their results.
Osteoporosis screening is offered to men and women at least 20 years of age.
How far will the mobile unit travel?
