Care as Extraordinary as Our Building

This is no ordinary building, and the care our patients receive inside is no ordinary care. That’s because children aren’t just small adults. Their bodies are as unique as their minds, and they need a hospital with medical programs and a highly trained staff that are designed and geared around their special world. Lucky for them, that’s just what we provide. As a world-class children’s hospital that offers family-centered pediatric care within our brightly colored walls, we give infants, children and young adults a level of physical, emotional and spiritual care they will find nowhere else.

Family-Centered Care

Children need the emotional connections and security that come with being part of a family. Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent puts the child and family as the focus of the healthcare team. Parents can visit their child whenever they want, any hour of any day, and may sleep overnight in their room. We encourage parents to be actively involved in

their child’s treatment, and we make it as easy as possible for that to take place.

Our Nurses

Working side by side with our specially trained physicians is a group of pediatric nurses who are just as special. Our nurses are dedicated to this hospital, and their careers and skills are committed solely to the treatment of children. Ninety percent are certified pediatric nurses, giving them specialized experience that leads to improved patient care and better recoveries. Knowing that the entire family can be affected by a child’s illness, our nurses also attend to the siblings and parents when they come to visit. Our nurses’ responsibilities are great, but their caring is even greater.

Primary Care

In Indianapolis, pediatric primary care is available through the St.Vincent Physician Network and St.Vincent Primary Care Clinics. Our local health ministries also provide community education, critical access care, pediatric specialty care, emergency care and pediatric intensive care for children of all ages.

At Saint John’s in Anderson, the Children’s Clinic provides free health and dental care to needy youngsters through age 18. Saint John’s Health Stations, located in nine Anderson churches, are also making a positive and profound impact in health education and promotion, illness prevention and access to health services in their neighborhoods.
