Pediatric Pulmonary Function Lab

The St.Vincent Pediatric Pulmonary Function Lab is a state-of-the-art laboratory designed to provide family-centered care to patients with respiratory issues and diseases. Features of our lab include:

• Testing for patients ages infant to 18
• NIOX (exhaled nitrous oxide measuring) monitoring system
• Three pediatric pulmonologists on staff to interpret all tests and make recommendations for treatment
• Pediatric respiratory therapists dedicated to achieving accurate testing for your child
• Ease of scheduling: Appointments available within seven business days of referral and direct referral to the lab without a pulmonary consultation

Our Pediatric Pulmonary Function Lab is specially designed to provide the procedures needed to detect and treat children’s pulmonary issues in an environment that is friendly and colorful. Available procedures and services include:

• Spirometry (before and after bronchodilator)
• Complete pulmonary function testing
• Exercise pulmonary function testing
• Resting energy expenditure testing
• Nutritional evaluations for children either over or under their ideal weight
• Medication delivery device and chest physiotherapy instruction
• Therapy vest and CPAP/BIPAP fitting
• Methacholine test to diagnose asthma
