St.Vincent Pediatric Rehabilitation Center offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of children who require further services.
Acute Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program
This program was designed to care for children with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, burns, orthopedic problems, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, global developmental delays, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and more. Children participate in at least three hours of therapy each day. Therapies include… physical, occupational and speech intervention. The goal of this program is to achieve optimal function before discharge.
Acute Hospital Care Program
Prematurity, congenital anomalies, failure-to-thrive, feeding disorders or the need for intravenous antibiotic therapy are all diagnoses that fit this program. These children receive therapy as appropriate to address specific needs.
Respiratory Management Program
Children admitted to this program have congenital or acquired respiratory conditions. Weaning from ventilators as well as intensive therapies to meet developmental goals are provided to meet the goals of these patients. Respiratory care is provided by credentialed respiratory therapists under the direction of a pediatric pulmonologist.
Hospice Program - Our Park
This program partners with St. Vincent Hospice to provide terminally ill children with a home-like environment when home just isn’t an option for their care. This is the first pediatric and only in-patient hospice facility in the state of Indiana. Patients benefit from the expertise of both excellent hospice and pediatric programs. |
