Arts, Culture and Recreation

Access to a variety of visual and performing arts, cultural expression, heritage and recreational activities.

St.Vincent Artworks

Members of the Symbology Committee ensure the philosophy of the Daughters of Charity of St.Vincent De Paul is demonstrated through the selection of art for all St.Vincent facilities. Among the pieces at St.Vincent-Indianapolis that offer inspiration and comfort to all are: Healing Light, a large stained glass window at the end of the grand concourse, which symbolizes light as the essential energy of life and the purest metaphor of God's presence and Going Home, a bronze sculpture that illustrates Christ's resurrection and promise of that He will come again, to take us to be with Him.

Cultural and Community Awareness

St.Vincent supports an array of community and cultural activities that foster heritage awareness and cultural understanding including Indiana Black Expo, Fiesta Indianapolis, Crooked Creek Community Day and various projects sponsored by the International Center and the City of Indianapolis.

Promotion of Fitness

St.Vincent associates participate in public demonstrations of the value of recreation, exercise and physical fitness such as "Race for the Cure" and the annual American Heart Association "Heart Walk."
