All ages-from the unborn to the elderly, receive excellent patient care in what is recognized as one of the foremost community-based physician training programs in the country. Physicians from across the nation come to join Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Obstetric/Gynecology residencies to practice under the direction of leading physicians in their fields.

Care Line

Community Health Screening and Immunization

Every year St.Vincent facilities make health screenings and immunizations available to the poor, elderly and medically underserved who lack health insurance or who do not have regular access to medical services. Such outreach typically occurs in concert with community fairs, clinics, school wellness programs and providers who serve the needs of vulnerable children and adults.

Rural Health Access

Indiana's rural communities have unique health and access issues, which are different from those of urban areas. Associates from each facility within St.Vincent Health are committed to working collaboratively with community organizations and individuals to conduct a periodic "community health assessment" in order to address health concerns unique to each area. Resources to support many of these activities are provided through a federal Community Access Program (CAP) grant administered by St.Vincent-Indianapolis.

School-Based Health Care

To increase children's access to basic health care information and services, St.Vincent works with the MSD of Washington Township, Indianapolis Public Schools and Unity Development Center to provide programs that foster healthy lifestyles and contribute to academic success.

Trinity Free Clinic

The Trinity Free Clinic, located at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, grew out of a grass-roots effort between the church, St.Vincent Hospital-Carmel and local physicians and medical personnel who volunteered to provide health assessments, immunizations, health education and primary care referral for the growing number of Hispanic families locating Hamilton County.
