About Us

In 1989 St.Vincent Hospitals and Health Services, Inc. (SVHHS) made a decision to partner with the residents of the Citizens/King Park community to address the local neighborhood problems. HomeTown House, located on Central Avenue, was created in 1991 to provide a safe environment for children in the community after they left school.

Over the years it became apparent that the residents in the community were in need of additional services and resources. In 1997 SVHHS, along with other community partners, helped create the Jubilee Center, which was founded on the site of the vacant Indianapolis Public School #45. This site was chosen as a central location to provide resources and services that would address the needs of the local community.

Out of this venture the Jubilee Partnerships was established to ensure that families in the Citizens/King Park neighborhood would have access to the knowledge and resources required to produce an abundant life. In 1998 HomeTown House was renamed the St.Vincent Unity Development Center (UDC) and was relocated to the Jubilee Center at 23rd Street and Park Avenue.

As a Jubilee partner, the St.Vincent UDC is dedicated to providing ongoing community outreach services to the Citizens/King Park community. Today, the St.Vincent UDC provides a host of community outreach services, including after-school programming, that meet the needs of the total family unit.
