Flight Team

 
Dove Flight™ are staffed by a critical care nurse and a critical care paramedic.  Each professional has extensive experience in their profession prior to becoming flight personnel for Dove Flight™.  During employment with Dove Flight™, each professional receives extensive orientation and ongoing education.  Dove Flight™ crewmembers complete hundreds of hours of continuing education each year to insure that a high level of patient care is provided to our customers.
 
Each Dove Flight™ professional must be certified in ACLS, PALS, TNCC or ATLS, BTLS, NRP or its equivalents to maintain employment with PHI.  In addition, many of the flight professionals maintain national certifications such as CEN, CCRN, CFRN, and CCEMTP.
 
The flight team is supported by emergency medical specialists who are available for patient consultations and crew direction 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

 
Medical Director

 
The Dove Flight™ Medical Directors and their team of physicians work with the Paramedics and Nurses to implement patient care protocols, monitor continuous quality improvement, conduct and complete medical research, and organize emergency medical service educational events.  Dove Flight™ medical direction team is one of the most experienced in the nation.

 
Medical Equipment 

The medical equipment and medications on board make a Dove Flight™ aircraft a mobile emergency room equipped to handle any patient who has been critically injured or ill.  Sophisticated onboard equipment allows the flight team to monitor a patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature and carbon dioxide levels.  The flight team uses external defibrillators, external and internal pacemakers, advanced ventilatory and airway management equipment, extensive pharmacological capability, and balloon pump equipment when required.
