Perinatal Care

Perinatal Care provides supportive care for parents and their infant following the diagnosis of a fatal birth defect.  Perinatal Care is a positive alternative or option for parents faced with the serious dilemma of caring for themselves and their unborn baby.

The program includes information to help families understand what is happening to them and what options are available for decision-making and preparing for the birth and death of their baby. Perinantal Care links families with a caring team of professionals to help during this difficult time, offering a reassuring presence for them as they deal emotionally and spiritually with the decisions to be made.

In addition, the program connects families with other community resources that offer assistance both in and out of the hospital setting.  Ultimately, the program allows parents to participate fully in decisions surrounding the birth and death of their baby.
