The St.Vincent Newborn Intensive Care Unit provides 24-hour care to newborns with special needs at delivery and beyond. Having a baby with special needs can be very unexpected and difficult. The NICU is staffed with specialists, devoted to the care of infants and their families.

  • The NICU consists of 2 units with a total of 75 beds.
  • Inovative pinwheel design provides privacy for families with quick access and visualization for staff.
  • Neonatologists on unit provide 24 hour care, 7 days a week
  • Newborn Transport Service
  • Strong neurodevelopmental support
  • Family-centered approach

  • Multi-disciplinary team of providers (RN's, Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapists and Physical Therapists)

 

Parental Involvement:

  • Kangaroo care

  • Parent Resource room with internet access for parents
