Oncology Annual Report: Colorectal Cancer
These charts show a strong correlation between early detection and the advancement of colorectal cancer. Thankfully, due to enhancements in screening technology including colonoscopies, mortality (death) rates are drastically reduced.
The AJCC Stage Chart shows the highest number of diagnoses is found at Stages 0, 1, and 2.
The median age for colorectal patients is between 60 and 70, with a percentage of cases split evenly (1 percent) among Chinese, Filipino and various other minority populations. Caucasions and African-Americans still have the highest numbers of diagnoses, with 81 percent and 16 percent, respectively.
