The Center for Spiritual Care

The Chapel is adjacent to the main lobby, Medical Center. The Center for Spiritual Care staff members may be contacted by calling the operator at 649-2511.

All other times, call the switchboard at (765) 649-2511.

Hours:
Staff available 24 hours per day, seven days per week for emergencies; after-hour calls are answered by an on-call chaplain.

Liturgy: Call 646-8182 for the week's schedule or consult the posted schedule outside the chapel..

The Center for Spiritual Care Department assists the spiritual, psychological and pastoral needs of patients and their families, respecting individual religious preferences and personal expressions of faith.

Roman Catholic patients have the opportunity to receive the Sacraments as they desire. The Chapel is open to patients, their families and friends from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Chaplains of other denominations are made available upon request.

Patients are welcome to invite their priest, minister or rabbi to visit at any time. If sufficient information is given at the time of admission, a patient's spiritual leader will be notified of the patient’s admission to the Medical Center.

Ministers of Care Training Program

This program is designed to train committed persons from any denomination to be a spiritual presence to others.  The program prepares them to provide care for the members of their faith communities and/or serving as volunteers in the health care setting.  An introductory retreat is conducted in late January.  Weekly classes begin in early February and continue for 10 weeks.  For more information or an application contact the Center for Spiritual Care at 765-646-8182 or email mhankins@sjhsnet.org.
