Saint John’s provides a full range of services to rehabilitate patients with injuries and/or disabilities. Inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy is conducted at the Medical Center. Outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies are primarily conducted at two Carl D. Erskine Rehabilitation Center locations. Specialized programs are available for pediatric and adult orthopedics, neurologic and developmental care, pain relief, wound healing, and industrial rehabilitation. All traditional physical medicine modalities are available, including aquatic therapy (at the Carl D. Erskine Center Meridian Street site only) and upper and lower extremity orthotic appliances, such as hand/wrist splints and custom-made shoe inserts.
Occupational Therapy
The goal of occupational therapy is to help individuals with injuries or disabilities regain independence and self-sufficiency in performing daily living skills, such as eating, dressing, working, etc.
