First Steps and Newborn Follow-up Clinic

Indiana's First Steps is an early intervention system for which St.Vincent Rehabilitation services provides Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. First Steps is a family-centered program that serves children from birth to age 3 who have disabilities and/or are at risk for developmental delays. For more information on these services, call our Intake Coordinator at St.Vincent Pediatric Rehabilitation Center (317) 257-BABY (2229), or call (800) 441-STEP.

As part of the Medical Genetics & Developmental Pediatrics Center, the newborn Follow-up clinic serves children, aged newborn to 5 years of age, who were born prematurely and required Neonatal Intensive Care due to prematurity, low-birth weight, or other medical conditions that placed them at risk for developmental difficulties. The newborn follow-up team includes a Neonatologist, a Pediatric Nurse, Occupational and Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. The team provides assessments and recommendations for developmental interventions for the children seen in the clinic. For more information, please call (317)338-5288.
